DAY 1

Badung – Munduk

100 KM

After breakfast and a safety briefing, we mount up on our bikes and begin to make our way into the rural countryside, cruising along the narrow bike paths through farmlands and rice paddies where local farmers can be seen planting their crops. Enjoy the wide-open views along the way before our first stop where we will enjoy a catch-of-the-day lunch on the beach with a salty sea breeze. Afterwards we continue heading inland and gradually up to higher altitudes, passing through local villages always with a wave and a smile. Before reaching the ridge line of Munduk regency we park our rides to stretch our legs and sip in a little Bali coffee culture enjoyed with spectacular views of the surrounding forested hills and valleys. Finally around mid afternoon we press onward to reach our lakeside camp. Once settled, take a boat ride around the lake or enjoy a short walk to the temple which depending on the season sits idle and surrounded by water. A hearty camp supper will be well into preparation by the time you return and afterwards a bonfire by the lake to close out the day.

DAY 2

Munduk – Kintamani

74 KM

There’s nothing like waking up to misty morning views as the steam sits and stirs over the lake surface. A local Munduk coffee will surely get your gears moving and motivated for our morning cruise along the Wanagiri ridge line where we can appreciate a fantastic photo opportunity over the twin lakes. We then head across towards our first scenic waterfall stop where a refreshing jungle shower is optional although highly recommended. After cooling off and a short hike back to the bikes we’ll recharge for lunch before continuing on our journey east towards Kintamani and Mt. Batur. After reaching camp we’ll have free time to relax and explore the areas many hiking trails. This vista also offers a spectacular sunset view over the volcano which you surely won’t want to miss. Lights out will come early today in preparation for our sunrise trek.

DAY 3

Kintamani – Karangasem

106 KM

They say “there ain’t no rest for the wicked” and the expression could not be more true than it is today. A 3am start will ensure we reach the summit of Mt. Batur in order to catch the first rays of light on the horizon and then back down the mountain with plenty of time to rest and catch a breath. After regaining our energy we’ll mount up for a gentle cruise down Bali’s Eastern coastal highway eventually climbing back inland, taking the scenic route where we will stop to soak in a little Bali temple culture. If we’re lucky we may even catch a traditional Balinese ceremony taking place inside the ancient sacred grounds. Next, we will weave our way back down the mountain and pick up the coastline again where we’ll enjoy our lunch with a backdrop over picturesque black sand beaches and the mighty Mt. Agung towering over the horizon. From here we’ll continue along the sweeping cliff-side roads enjoying twisty curves and ocean views as we go. We should expect to arrive at our vista campsite allowing just enough daylight to soak up the spectacular panorama!

DAY 4

Karangasem – Badung

65.4 KM

Our eastern facing position is just perfect to start our final day with the sunrise, or perhaps opt for a sleep-in instead. As we only face a half day ride it’s our last chance to enjoy a leisurely camp breakfast before heading out. The wiggly roads leading back down through Sideman this morning are perfect to scrub out those rubbers and get your lean on and once we hit the main highway just open up that throttle for the home run. Cold celebratory beers await us at the finish line in Canggu!
