2 Day / 1 Night
Mount Up & Rideout
Our tour begins from our home base in Canggu where we can warm our engines before setting out. Our first section of riding will sharpen our senses and will also be excellent training as we join Bali’s typical morning hustle and bustle. Here we have the opportunity to observe the traditional daily routines of the local people along the way.
Tampaksiring Tomb Raiders
After topping up our energy levels we will continue on our course but it won’t be long until our next stop where we’ll have the chance to discover one of Bali’s most ancient and well kept archetectural secrets, an 11th century temple known as Gunung Kawi. This impressive monument is also a funiery complex which is comprised of a intricate network of cave dwellings with giant stone carvings and will surely make you feel like you might even spot Laura Croft amongst the jungle ruins.
As we make the gentle climb up through bamboo forests and orange groves we will begin to feel the temperature change and will finally be rewarded with awe inspiring panoramas over Gunung & Danau Batur. Here we will stop for a hot buffet lunch and have plenty of time to recharge our batteries while we soak in the epic view.
Navagating the Lava Fields
Our greatest challenge awaits us as we reach the black lava, but make no mistake, this off road section is no match for our prized ponies! We will surely and steadily navigate the twisted track of boulders and volcanic aggregate while we soak in the other worldly atmosphere.
Welcome to Tejakula
After our dust up through the black lava playground we’ll once again ready ourselves to continue on our journey. From here we’ll emerge from the caldera and make the steep descent from sky to sea towards our evening’s accommodation which is situated right on the black sand beaches of Bali’s north coast. After arriving at our final destination we will have some free time to kick off our boots, lean back and just enjoy the oceans melody.
Barbecue & Bonefire
As the sun starts to set behind Bali’s northern crest we will make our way to the beach to catch the last rays of sunshine. By now dinner preperation will be well underway and on the menu will be fresh local fish grilled over hot coals right on the black sand beach. Following dinner we will sit and warm our toes in front of the campfire, roasting marshmallows and sharing our own adventure stories.
As the sun begins to rise so will we and we wouldn’t dream of missing the show. Our local fisherman will be waiting to take us out on the water for front row seats and with a little luck try to spot some of Bali’s famous spinner dolphins. These playful marine creatures are well known for their high-flying acrobatic displays and close, yet friendly encounters.
On the Road Again
After breakfast we’ll once again prepare ourselves for the next stretch of our journey. After checking out and bidding a fond farewell to our gracious hosts we will mount up and roll out, riding along the beatiful northern coastal highway and then back up through forested mountain roads enjoying the gentle roller coaster of twists and turns and scenic views.
Temple by the Lake
At around the half way mark we will stop to stretch our legs and take in the beautiful sights of Danu Tamblingan with her impressive Balinese temple centerpiece which at certain times of year sits completely surrounded by water. Here we will stop to enjoy our picnic lunch by the lakeside.
A Spirited Estate
By mid-afternoon following a few more challenging sections we will stop for a rest at a grand estate situated on the forested slopes of Batu Karu and will be greeted with cool towelettes and welcome drinks. Here we have the opportunity to tour the facilities and discover that it surprisingly houses a world class distillery and produces a very high quality local spirit.
